We are the sixth generation to live in this traditional farmhouse. Living in harmony with the surrounding nature and farming the land our ancestors farmed is still at our heart. Our family is ready to welcome you to our recently renovated charming farmhouse that recalls the original rustic house and old cellars. This includes serving you our typical dishes in the renovated old barn.

With more than a century of history, the farmhouse represents a beautiful and intact testimony of an ancient Friulian architecture.

Made entirely of brick it was originally divided into a residential area and annexed stable with an overhanging barn. An essential and functional structure of past rural life and built with simple and natural materials.

The building dates to the second half of the nineteenth century. There are no certain dates but it seems that the main construction, built by Comuzzi Giacomo and his wife Amalia, dates back to 1885-1895. The first building consisted of a house, cellar, stables and a covered machinery park with overhead hay barn. Subsequently, in the early 1900s, the second generation of the family transformed and added an extension on the stables and barn, obtaining two separate residential and working units. This layout was kept intact until 2012, after which renovation works began to reach its current state.

The solid masonry construction comes from the Flambruzzo clay quarries, the same material that has been used for building in the Zarnic area since Roman times. Giacomo and Amalia's son, Giovanni, with his wife Elena were the first to live here, followed by their son Gastone with his wife Luigia and subsequently their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Six generations have lived here in harmony, with respect for the nature that surrounds them, feeding on the fruits of the land and the fish caught in the pure waters of the river Stella. This has allowed the conservation of a natural landscape that miraculously remained intact.
